When you get a referral, what is your first inclination? Do you wonder why someone shared with you one thing over another? Is it important to you to know at least some opinion from another before you venture forth?
Referrals are common amongst us all. Whether it is music, service business or even a restaurant, we count on referrals to gives us a perspective when making a decision. You are walking down the street and you pass a row of restaurants and a friend asks you where they should eat? And say there is a restaurant that you have dined at many times on one side of the street and another that you have maybe never been to but heard about, so you can only speak based on what you have heard? When you speak from experience and from the heart, others can tell, and in that sharing they are brought up to your level of passion and commitment.
You are likely to refer the one that you have frequented. The point is that you will tend to share with other swhat has been successful for you. It is the same in business and the same in many other choices we make. If it has been a success for one person and it is a person you know and trust, you are likely to take their advice.
So if you are looking for a business or more specifically a way to diversify your income, look into something that you are referred into by people you trust and then more specifically into a business you will actively participate in and benefit from so that you will have a story to share. It is in sharing and referring that businesses grow and flourish.
